Search for all Messages by a Member:
If you enter a member login name,
Beeboard will return a listing of all discussions that member
started, replied to, or was mentioned in.
Search for a Topic:
Enter one or more keywords related to your search. The dependency order is not important.
Example 1:
If you search for "bermuda short", the engine will return a match on both:
"I spent a short time in bermuda"
and also on the string:
"it was so hot that even my grandfather wore his bermuda shorts".
Example 2:
If you search for "AOL MSFT", the engine will return a match on both of these:
"I typically short AOL when it's in the 90's, and I always sell MSFT before earnings"
"I have owned MSFT since 1992. AOL I jump in and out of".
You can also just enter "RHAT" to return a listing of all discussions and messages about Red Hat.
Word Filtering:
We exclude the 400 most common words in the english language. You can therefore use a question format and not
skew your results. If you enter "Who was the King of Prussia", the engine will pick out the keywords "King" and
"Prussia".
Searching Private Forums:
You can only search private forums from inside each private forum. Enter the private forum and search from there.
Other Facts:
If you are inside of a forum, you will have the option to search All Forums, or just the current forum you
are in.
All keywords entered must be present to return a match. You should therefore start your search with less
keywords, and expand the keywords to refine your search.
The search engine also searches the message body.
The search engine only displays the first 80 characters of a message. Just click on the link to read the
discussion or message in it's entirety.
Certain areas of the board do not have a search "box" on them. In these cases you can always access the search
feature by clicking on the "search" link, located near the top right of the board.
